Collective Threat Response Initiative

Securing the Jewish Community, With the Jewish Community

Antisemitism and threats to the Jewish community are at the highest levels in decades.

New solutions are needed to protect Jewish communities.

Our mission is to protect the Jewish community by providing professional, trained, and licensed armed security services using volunteers from the Jewish community.

Our Vision

We believe that “never again” is a call to action.

We come from a background of service in law enforcement, fire/rescue, the US military, and the IDF. We are passionate about keeping the Jewish community safe. We became frustrated seeing synagogues make compromises on their security, or foregoing it altogether. We became frustrated seeing synagogues unable to obtain security because it was unavailable or unaffordable.

We believe that it is imperative to have a resilient security capability within Jewish community. We set forth to use our experience, our training, and our passion and created the Collective Threat Response Initiative to develop a professional, trained, and sustainable security solution within the Jewish community.

Your Volunteers. Our Training.

Private security guards are often not familiar with the building layout of our synagogues, placing them at a disadvantage in a response. State minimum training for private security guards does not prepare them to handle threats facing the Jewish community. Synagogues often have budget constraints that limit how often they can afford to pay for security. We address all of these issues.

We provide vetted volunteers from the community with best-in-class training at no cost to them or to your organization. Once they successfully complete their training, they return to their community as professional licensed security guards.

Our volunteers are from the community. They are committed to protecting the community.

Partnering

We work with synagogues and Jewish community institutions of any size or affiliation. Whether your synagogue has an armed or unarmed volunteer security team today, or you wish to create a new volunteer capability beyond paid private security, we can help.

Volunteering

Volunteers candidates must be submitted by their organization. After a thorough vetting process, volunteers receive training that is both mentally and physically intensive, designed to ensure the development of necessary skills. Those who pass and become active volunteers will continue to participate in ongoing training and mandatory qualifications to maintain proficiency.

Seeking Veterans

We are particularly interested in volunteers from the US or IDF veteran community, as well as current or former members of law enforcement.

There will also be an option join a regional team to provide additional support for special events within the community.

Volunteering with CTRI will enable you to put on a new uniform and continue to serve by protecting your own families and community.

Stop the Bleed Training

The Northern Virginia High Threat Response System and Committee on Tactical Emergency Casualty Care have developed the Until Help Arrives Stop the Bleed program. We strongly believe that it provides the most comprehensive and thorough training to prepare members of the community than any other Stop the Bleed program available.

Our volunteer security teams will ensure that staff at their congregations are all trained to provide trauma first-aid.

We don’t get to pick the time or the place of the next attack against the Jewish community. All we can do is work to be prepared for it.

Support our efforts to keep the Jewish community safe by donating or volunteering with us.
