Community Leaders: Build Your Team

Contact us for more information on building a volunteer armed security team for your synagogue or Jewish organization.

We will work with you to determine if your program is a good fit for your organization. Once we establish a formal relationship, we will take your list of candidates and perform a thorough vetting process that includes background checks and interviews.

When a volunteer team is operating at your organization, they fall under the authority of your Security Director, just as with any private security guard. They will operate according to your organization’s comprehensive security plan. If you do not have such resources in place, don’t let that deter you. There are resources available to help with that, and we will guide you.

Community Members: Advocate & Volunteer

We are from the community. We bring our families to the same congregations and community events. And we are as concerned as many of you about the security at these events. Help us make our community safer by ensuring we have a capacity within our community that we can rely upon to protect our own community.

As we start to grow, we will need the your help to inform and educate organizations about us. Tell your synagogue leadership about us. Talk to the volunteer usher/greeters in your community.

If you would like more information, contact us. If you feel ready, join us!

We are seeking to recruit volunteers from synagogues and other Jewish organizations across Northern Virginia. Those interested in volunteering should consult their synagogue or institution leadership first, or provide us with a point of contact to reach out to. Once we establish a relationship with the organization, they will provide us with a list of volunteer candidates for vetting. Volunteers will be required to commit to maintaining a minimum number of monthly hours of service at a time and frequency to be determined between CTRI and the organization.

While our initial operations will be in Northern Virginia, it is our intent to expand to operate in Maryland and the District of Columbia.

We are also seeking military veterans and current/former law enforcement officers who are interested in volunteering as part of a regional team to provide additional support for special events within the community.
