Stop The Bleed - Bystander & Community Preparedness Training
BYSTANDERS ARE THE IMMEDIATE RESPONDERS
Be the help Until Help Arrives
Research has found that those most likely to survive a disaster are the people who are most mentally prepared.
Empowered active bystanders save lives, whether they come across someone injured in a car crash, or are involved in an active violence or terrorist attack.
About the Training
There are many programs that teach tactical and trauma medical response. Stop the Bleed programs are focused on empowering civilians…the “immediate responders” who are already present when an event occurs.
The training will teach the skills necessary to stop severe bleeding and save lives using simple first-aid equipment that can increasingly be found in public access bleeding control kits…much like public access AEDs, or that they may choose to carry with them after they finish taking this class.
Open To Anyone
TRAUMA IS THE #1 CAUSE OF DEATH AMONG AMERICANS AGE 1-46.
BLEEDING IS THE #1 CAUSE OF PREVENTABLE DEATH FROM TRAUMA.
FIRST RESPONDERS WILL TAKE TIME TO ARRIVE.
GOAL: ZERO PREVENTABLE DEATHS AFTER INJURY.
This is not just a class on how to apply tourniquets. Participants will learn and practice several hands-on skills, as well as information to understand the body’s natural physiological response in a disaster or high threat situation.
The Until Help Arrives program teaches participants what to expect in an act of violence, so that they can be mentally and physically prepared to act to save their own lives or the lives of their friends and family.
The training requires no prior medical experience, and is applicable to all age groups from mature pre-teens to retirees.
